French broadcaster TF1 is expanding the online-gaming portal for its media group through a partnership with European online games giant Bigpoint.
The top ten most popular titles of the Hamburg-based, online-game developer Bigpoint will be immediately and exclusively integrated into their self-created game channel for multiplayer games.
In the new multiplayer section, users will be able to play casual games like the farm-simulation game Farmerama as well as core games such as the space-adventure game DarkOrbit.
The ten games can be played for free based on the “Free2play” business model: To advance through the game faster, users can purchase virtual goods with real money within the game.
The portal launch will be accompanied by an extensive TV nation-wide campaign in France which will focus on the titles Farmerama and Seafight.
“TF1 is the largest entertainment provider in France and therefore a particularly attractive cooperation partner for Bigpoint,” states Nils Holger Henning, CCO at Bigpoint. We look forward to working with them to provide our games to a large online-friendly target group in one of our largest user markets.”
Claude Charpin, Deputy Director of New Media at eTF1: “We’re very excited about this cooperation with Bigpoint. It allows us to expand and complete TF1.fr’s range of games via a myriad of free-to-play games. The cooperation helps us to offer a wider range of products to our players and reach new target groups.”
