The Bing Network now powers more than one in five searches in the UK, as the Microsoft search engine outpaces Google for growth, according to new data.
Comscore reports that Bing has surpassed 20 percent market share in the UK, according to latest comScore figures. Increasing its share of the search market, the Bing Network now powers more than one in five UK searches.
Search is an integral component of any marketing strategy. The latest IAB Digital Adspend report saw paid-for search increase 15.3%, now accounting for 51% of all digital advertising spend in the UK. With this, Bing is unlocking more data than ever, empowering marketers to build a more informed picture of their audience. Bing is predictive, intelligent, and personal, and with 840 million monthly searches taking place on the Bing Network[2], Bing is bigger than you think.
Over the past year, Bing has increased its investment in marketers, developing strategic syndication partnerships with the likes of Gumtree and announcing new products such as Bing Shopping and Bing Ads Editor for Mac.
Ravleen Beeston, Bing’s UK Head of Sales commented, “These figures clearly demonstrate Bing’s growing presence within the search market. We’ve already seen great success, and our journey is only just getting started. Over the past year, we’ve announced syndication partnerships, and new product launches, showcasing Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to search. Bing understands the conversations that consumers are having, and empowers marketers to harness these insights to make meaningful connections.”
Bing Network includes Microsoft sites, Yahoo sites (powered by Bing) and AOL sites in the UK.
