Ride-hailing app Kapten is rewarding passengers with a free ride when they’re reunited with a driver they’ve previously used.
The industry-first ‘Karmatch’ initiative also sees drivers benefit – with their earnings doubled for the journey.
From September 9th, the Kapten app will automatically recognise when a passenger and driver meet again – triggering a ‘Karmatch’.
Running until October 6th, it’s the latest addition to Kapten’s socially responsible and affordable private-ride service in London. Arriving in London earlier this year, Kapten now works with more than 16,000 drivers across the capital. It provides fixed, low pricing to its users (on average 21% lower than Uber*), pays local taxes and offers its drivers a Clean Air Bonus, to encourage them to switch to zero-emission vehicles.
Mariusz Zabrocki, London General Manager at Kapten, commented: “Being reunited is more common than you might think with Kapten. Each week, more than 1,300 customers meet their old driver again. The more you ride with Kapten, the more likely you are to meet one of our 16,000 driver partners twice. It’s not luck, it’s loyalty!
