Diaper manufacturer Huggies has teamed up with creative agency Ogilvy Brazil to create ‘Huggies TweetPee’; a gadget and app that lets parents know when their baby needs a change in diaper.
The gadget is a sensor that can be attached to a baby’s diaper; when it detects an increase in humidity it sends a tweet to the parent’s Twitter account.
The TweetPee sensor looks like a little Twitter bird caricature. There are several Tweet alert levels depending upon the nappy being dry, a little moist or completely flooded.
The alert messages range from and include “Everything OK here,” “Oops, Did a few drops,” and “Time to Change.”
The device is compatible with a smartphone app, which can assign a picture of the baby to an account.
Also the app keeps a track of the amount of diapers being used with a complete history being built up- in turn encouraging parents to stock up on their next supply of Huggies.
Huggies owner Kimberly-Clark is test marketing the TweetPee device in Brazil.
