Injury claims firm Accident Advice Helpline is launching the first UK transactional QR-code promotion, offering a boost to traditional media.
Double Bubble, an offers and promotion company, will distribute 100,000 QR-code enabled print advertisements to UK households in March targeting 24-44 year olds, in London suburbs.
The campaign, in partnership with Linking Mobile, the mobile affiliate network, complements their existing mobile display activity. The door-drop campaign extends their cost per acquisition (CPA) activity to print which is a first for a UK brand.
David Carter, Director of Marketing at Accident Advice Helpline says, “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to reach consumers – transactional QR codes has enabled us to broaden our reach into traditional media on a CPA basis.”
Linking Mobile, the UK’s first global mobile affiliate network which launched in May 2011 now enables brands to track from QR codes right through to an acquisition. Consumers scan the barcodes using their smartphone to complete the offer on mobile optimised brand sites. Last year, comScore reported that 57.4% of QR codes are scanned in the home which lends itself well to paper based direct marketing (source: Comscore MobiLens EU5, June 2011).
David Fieldhouse, Chief Marketing Officer at Mobile Future Group, parent company of Linking Mobile says, “This is a big leap forward for affiliate and performance marketing. Non-digital media owners can now participate in affiliate marketing for the first time via our trackable QR codes. The majority of handsets in the UK market are smartphones and as such consumers will want to use their device to transact with various forms of media. We offer print media owners an easy way to connect with these consumers and crucially generate new revenue streams.”
Andrew Gardner, Managing Director at Double Bubble Media who created the QR-enabled advertisements says, “We’re delighted to be working with Linking Mobile, our distinctive offering fits well with their unique mobile technology. We’re looking forward to running more targeted campaigns with them.”
