Over two-fifths (43%) of Brits have ordered goods online to be delivered by parcel delivery services when under the influence of alcohol, according to a new poll.
The survey from price comparison site Kelkoo also found that 39 per cent admit they will do some of this year’s Christmas shopping after a few drinks.
The most common items purchased include clothes, shoes, DVDs and videogames. KPMG found a similar spread of goods being bought earlier in the week, revealing in a report that 77 per cent of people prefer to buy DVDs and games online and have them delivered to their homes.
Overall, British shoppers have already spent £5.2 billion shopping over the internet after drinking, according to Kelkoo.
Chris Simpson, chief marketing officer, said: “Online shopping has become a daily part of Brits’ lives and people are taking advantage of being able to shop at any time of the day.”
