Google has reportedly requested some manufacturers delay the launch of TV sets based on the internet company’s software.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the internet giant sent out word to some hardware makers last week asking them not to announce additional products yet, saying the delay may allow the company to improve its software.
The initial Google TV devices are offered by Sony and Logitech.
However, the WSJ said Samsung will go ahead with its launch of Google TV products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in early January, citing people briefed on the company’s plans.
The Google TV service will let viewers surf the Web directly from TV sets.
