IMVU has launched seven new internationalized versions of its 3D virtual world.
These new localized versions include: Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish.
IMVU is an online social entertainment destination where members use 3D avatars to meet new people, chat, create and play games with their friends.
The launch of the new internationalized versions will start with Swedish followed by the other six languages in the weeks ahead. I
IMVU currently has a community of European members who create, buy and sell virtual goods on IMVU, and the company hopes to build on its initial success by making IMVU more accessible to non-English-speaking users.
“We see a lot of interest coming from Europe, where we currently have more than 10 million registered users,” said Cary Rosenzweig, CEO of IMVU, Inc. “By introducing localized versions of IMVU, more people will be able to enjoy it in the language with which they are most comfortable.”
IMVU’s European launch follows the company’s successful expansion into the social entertainment arena when IMVU introduced casual and social games to its platform. IMVU also recently launched its first Mac client and iPhone App, IMVU 2Go, making it possible for Apple customers to participate in the IMVU experience at home or on-the-go for the very first time.
