Google Glass is to get its own barcode scanner, via eBay’s Redlaser app, opening up new channels for marketers in the process.
The shopping assistant lets users scan and compare prices of products in the real world. The app isn’t limited to eBay items and can show results from various big name retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, Nordstrom, or Foot Locker.
For those times when a barcode isn’t available to scan, the Glassware also allows users to search for a product by voice, pulling up the product and even providing navigation and directions to where you can buy it locally.
