Geoff Unwin appointed Chairman of Tryzens

Tryzens, the digital commerce solutions company, has appointed Geoff Unwin as Chairman of the Board following a management buyout in October 2013.

Geoff joins Tryzens as the company builds on its strong reputation for expertise and invests in its core consultancy and technical integration business to underpin strong growth. Tryzens partners with retailers and brands to maximise revenues, streamline operations and align online trading with broader commercial objectives. Working with multi-national businesses, through to emerging brands, Tryzens makes sense of the world’s most complex and fast-evolving sales environments.
Geoff takes up the role of Chairman of Tryzens following a distinguished career in IT services where he has worked with a number of fast growing IT services companies. Until January 2002 Geoff was Chief Executive Officer of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where he led the successful acquisition of Ernst & Young’s consulting activities and remained a non-voting member of their Board until 2012. He is currently Chairman of Xchanging Limited, a publicly listed business process outsourcing services provider, OpenCloud Limited, a telecommunications software company and also sits on the advisory board of the private equity group, Palamon, where he chairs one of their portfolio companies, Retail Decisions plc. He was formerly Chairman of United Business Media plc, Halma plc and several private equity backed companies, mainly in the technology sector.
Geoff plans to make Tryzens the unquestionable UK leader in providing digital commerce solutions to the retail sector.
Terry Hunter, Chief Executive, Tryzens, said: “Tryzens is working to match demand from UK and international retailers for its e-commerce and multi-channel services. Geoff’s experience will help us to manage our rapid growth and drive us to become leaders in the UK, across Europe, and in the Middle East; before expanding to new territories. Digital commerce is an inherently global business, and we will continue to grow with our customers.”
Geoff added: “Tryzens has an impressive market position and is growing rapidly, led by a strong entrepreneurial CEO – Terry Hunter. If any proof was needed of the importance of integrated, customer friendly, digital platforms in the retail sector, the stark differences in the performance of many retailers over the recent Christmas period underlines it. Digital commerce solutions are expanding quickly and Tryzens has the expertise to lead the market.”
Tryzens has more than 200 staff with offices in London, Bulgaria and India. Current clients include Tesco, Waitrose, Debenhams, Dunelm, Mothercare, JD Sports, Timberland, among many other well known brands.
