Angry Birds ‘Friends’ gets social with Facebook twist

Rovio Mobile has launched Angry Birds Friends for Apple and Android devices, letting players of the popular mobile game compete against Facebook friends.

As with the version that has been available on Facebook since last year, the game lets users connect up their Facebook account to compete against friends to achieve the highest score on each level.
The free ad-funded game promises new tournaments and new levels every week.
The game begins with a 5-step tutorial guiding that then lets users login using Facebook credentials.
Rovio posted $71m in net profit on $195m in revenue for 2012 – a 101% jump in revenue, year-on-year.
Rovio also announced a new version of the original Angry Birds game for Windows Phone, replacing the $2.99 version released earlier.
The game has over 400 levels and is free to download for the first two weeks.
The Windows Phone 8 version also features have Xbox Live integration with new achievements and leader boards.
In March the Finnish game smaker also began rolling out an Angry Birds cartoon series in March.
