Pinterest has updated its website with improved navigation and bigger pins, as the social media scrapbook aims to build upon its huge growth last year.
The update will roll out on Pinterest.com to “a small group of people,” Pinterest said in a blog post. Those who are interested in testing it out can request to be included in that group.
The updated Pinterest dashboard will have a navigation button that’s in line with the search bar.
The new categories view for web looks like the Pinterest mobile apps, with icons for each pin type.
The pins themselves are larger, with more pins from the same board, related pins, and other boards the pin was pinned to. All of the new information is displayed alongside the pin, instead of below it, which is intended to promote better content discovery and encourage users to keep clicking through.
The update preview comes shortly after Pinterest made its first acquisition – recipe discovery site Punchfork.
