With video streaming on the rise, Netflix and Lovefilm are locked in battle for UK domination. A new report looks at the services offered by both.
Research by Oric, UK site directing users to legal online content, shows that Netflix has more TV shows and series than LoveFilm, while LoveFilm has a better film selection.
It reveals that Netflix had 925 TV seasons compared with LoveFilm’s 589. Of the totals, 210 were available across both services.
Amazon-owned LoveFilm, meanwhile, offers 3,284 film titles compared with 1,668 at Netflix. There were 260 movies available across both.
However, both services pale in comparison to their US counterparts; Netflix US has a much more comprehensive streaming catalogue, 14,142 titles strong.
Amazon Instant Prime, meanwhile, offers its customers 13,185 subscription streaming films (and thousands more on a pay-per-view basis).
