Lotaris is launching the Early Release Programme for its new commerce platform for Windows 8 apps, called ‘Lotaris in-appCommerce for Windows 8’.
Limited to the first 300 developers who sign-up worldwide, the programme lets them use the platform to sell Windows 8 mobile or PC apps and keep 100% of revenues, for 90 days.
The new commerce platform takes advantage of Microsoft allowing developers to use third party commerce engines when selling mobile and PC apps in the Microsoft store.
Lotaris in-appCommerce for Windows 8 is the first real alternative to Microsoft’s own commerce platform.
After the 90 days, developers still make more money from selling Windows 8 apps by only paying 9.85% of revenue earned.
The charges are lower than the 30% or 20% that Microsoft’s rates. So a $10 app sold using Microsoft commerce services earns $7; with Lotaris in-appCommerce, developers make $8.67.
It offers a much wider range of licensing and payment options, such as popular business models available on Android.
Models which Lotaris offers over and above Microsoft include usage limited trial, subscriptions and time limited premium features.
Developers can now migrate models they’ve found successful on other platforms.
These early users will receive high levels of support and advice plus 100% of app revenue for 90 days (up to 5,000 transactions). Users simply register, request the SDK and integrate with the Windows Store using an API.

Research shows that 10% of Windows Phone gamers spend more than $25 a month in the Windows Store, compared to just 4% on both iOS and Android.
