The firm is partnering with InventCommerce to deliver the service for visitors to the White Rose shopping centre.
Land Securities owns and manages more than 29 million sq ft of property, from shopping centres to offices.
This first of a kind UK project leverages Google Commerce Search to enhance the experience for visitors, whether online or within the shopping centre.
The solution delivers an aggregated search experience across multiple retailers. Visitors planning a trip to the White Rose shopping centre can search for products online, across multiple retailers in the centre via a single search.
They can also search via their mobile phones whilst in the shopping centre or individual retail store. This will allow shoppers to find and locate alternative products available in different retail stores.
Debenhams, Topshop, Warehouse and Oasis, four of the centre’s flagship retail stores, are the first to support the initial scheme.
InventCommerce , the UK Go-To-Market partner for Google Commerce Search, has implemented Google’s search solution for Land securities, including the ability to search across multiple retailers’ product catalogues.
Future phases could leverage additional Google Commerce Search features such as Product Recommendations, based on other users’ searches and the ability to check local stock availability using data provided by the retailers.
Catherine Thomas, Head of Retail Marketing of Land Securities, said: “Our aim is to support and deliver added value to retailers in our shopping centres and to support their multichannel strategy. The White Rose shopping centre in Leeds receives thousands of online visitors every day and Google Commerce Search will significantly improve their online experience. The retailers involved in this initial scheme will be able to provide a seamless service for customers across online, mobile and in-store. If this trial is successful, we hope to roll out Google Commerce Search across more of our shopping centre websites throughout the year.”
Kevin Ludford, CEO of InventCommerce, said: “Google Commerce Search enables users to create fast, unique, location aware product search experiences for today’s omni-channel consumer, supporting those retailers with a joined up strategy whether the consumer wishes to purchase on line or within stores.”
