Real-time ad platform AppNexus opens London office

AppNexus, a real-time ad platform used by global ad networks, demand-side platforms (DSPs), ad exchanges, and other leading online advertising companies, is to open an office in London and appoint Ajay Daved as the first hire in the UK. Daved will work with new and existing clients, including online advertising networks, agency trading desks and demand-side platforms (DSPs) to spearhead the growth of AppNexus in Europe.

Ajay Daved brings a wealth of technology experience to the role and a solid understanding of the online advertising market in Europe. He joins from Nugg.ad where he was sales director for UK and Ireland. Prior to that, he was sales manager at ADTECH, responsible for building the adserver’s business amongst advertisers, online advertising agencies and publishers.
Daved spent four years at DoubleClick before that where he became rich media sales specialist.
Commenting on the appointment, Michael Rubenstein, President of AppNexus explains, “We liked Ajay’s industry experience, technology expertise and entrepreneurial attitude. He will make a great first hire for our European operations, which is a market we are really committed to growing. London will be our hub for Europe and we are recruiting for the rest of the European team.”

Last month, Microsoft Corp. announced the rollout of the Microsoft Advertising Exchange, powered by AppNexus, in the UK. Other European clients using AppNexus’ real-time advertising platform include mexad, Collective, Infectious Media, Matiro and Adconion.
