Brits are developing a taste for nostalgia as shoppers prepare to party for the Royal wedding this April, according to shopping comparison site Twenga.
Since the beginning of January, the number of “William & Kate” products on Twenga has more than doubled, from 206 to 419.
The theme is decidedly retro, with bone china mugs, decorative plates and tea towels in the long tradition of Royal weddings.
With a life-size cut-out of the couple, William & Kate cup-cake cases, Union Jack flags and party bunting, the street party is also making a comeback.
The soon-to-be Queen Consort’s influence on shopping habits can also be seen in the 100% increase in searches for “lipsy Kate Middleton dress” this month compared to last, as young women seek to emulate the style that won a prince.
